There are altogether 6 layers in the Safelife P95 mask comprising of an durable outer layer, 3 layers treated with Triosyn resin, one carbon layer and an inner layer.
What is Triosyn Resin?
It is a broad spectrum polymer with iodine which destroyed dangerous organism through a proprietary demand-release delivery mechanism. It is achieved by strong attraction to a passing microorganism.
How does the Triosyn Resin works?
The Triosyn Resin compound creates increased microbial attraction by chemical, electrostatic and physical means. The multilayer filter has specialized fibers that create more surface areas to capture more micro-organism.
Micro-organisms which are naturally charged are strongly attracted to Triosyn resin. Since the resin maintains its electrochemical charge, the mask media stays active longer.
The Triosyn filtration media oxidizes the proteins on the surface of the micro-organism rendering it harmless and unable to enter the air streams.
What is the function of the carbon layer?
The carbon layer consists of activated carbon (also known as activated charcoal) has a remarkable capacity to absorb organic nuisance odors. This will prevent disaster crew, rescue teams, laboratory technicians from distraction by offensive fumes.
What does P95 mean?
P95 is a filtration rating given by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The filtration rating designation category in the following chart is determined by the NIOSH disposable respirator certification test utilising a 20 minute challenge with 0.3 micron salt particles.
| Oil Resistance | Rating | Description |
| Not Resistant | N95 | Filter at least %95 of airborne particles |
| Somewhat Resistant | R95 | Filter at least %95 of airborne particles |
| Strong Resistant | P95 | Filter at least %95 of airborne particles |
"P" designation is the highest rating in that the respirator/mask qualifies at the same filtration level as N and R categories but has the added strong resistance to oil and fat, diesel exhaust, fatty tissues etc. Oil and fat fluids, aerosols, vapors, lubricants etc degrade the electrostatic attraction and capture mechanism in respirator causing rapid loss of efficacy.
